Eventbrite emails are sent 'from' a non existant domain which, if the recipient is running sender verification, means the order confirmation emails are blocked - here is an email i received from someone who recently signed up for our event:
I am waiting for the confirmation email from eventbrite However, their email has a from address of: <bounces@mail1.eventbrite.com>. As we run sender verify (to cut down on spam), and that domain does not appear to have a listening mail server, the mail is currently being blocked by our edge MTAs. Here is the relevant (exim) log entry: 2009-09-18 10:15:31 H=mail1.eventbrite.com [67.192.45.97] sender verify defer for <bounces@mail1.eventbrite.com>: could not connect to mail1.eventbrite.com [67.192.45.97]: Operation timed out 2009-09-18 10:15:31 H=mail1.eventbrite.com [67.192.45.97] F=<bounces@mail1.eventbrite.com> temporarily rejected RCPT <xxxxxx@xxxxxxxx>: Could not complete sender verify callout If they sent the mail from a valid domain, with a working MX, this would not be a problem... |

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We updated our order confirmation emails yesterday and that upgrade could have accidentally changed our headers. We are looking at it now.
